Oracle buys Siebel for $5.85 Billion

Oracle agreed to buy CRM software maker Siebel today for 5.85 Billion in cash and stocks. Another big merge on the same day that Ebay buys Skype. Oracle is big to begin with and now they buy Siebel which makes them bigger. How long before Oracle and Microsoft start duking it out?

Side note: A newer company near me(Valley City,ND) called Eagle Creek Software Services has made a pretty good splash lately by offering above average salary(for ND anyways) for Siebel CRM integrators. I don’t suppose that this will affect them much, but it would be sad if it did.
