Easter

The Shepherd was taken
By the lords of metal and material
A prisoner walked
Carrying the weight of many
A weight of mortality
Relieved Everlong
The dirt swept away
By a river of crimson red
Sweet and mornful harmony
From veiled singers aground
The lifezest laid to rest
In a depth of darkness
A mortal weight
Moved as if by faith
A mortal body
Gone as if it were ne’er there
Harmony, sweet and rejoicing!
Heard from sight to sea
Sung by winged singers aloft
In a ocean of perpetuity
The sheep lost and alone
Are herded once more
Led unto eternity
By faith that moves
Even the strongest to his knees.
