Microsoft to buy eBay? Maybe.

I’ve written a post over at SuperGeekBlog in reference to the NYPost article about the Microsoft/Ebay rumors. Perhaps I’ll try and elaborate on my comments and such here tomorrow, but it’s getting rather late and wanted to get this up so that those of you who don’t read SuperGeekBlog (you should) would catch wind of the rumors.

  1. WOW.

You must be a genius. If Microsoft were to buy E-bay it would be a deal worth in the Billions? Nice obvious statement.

Considering that Ebay’s current market cap is 48 Billion – and a premium would have to be paid that would equate to a deal worth in the billions…

    You are a Tech Genius….

    Ryan,

Of course it is stating the obvious. What would have made that a “tech genius” statement to you? Maybe I should have estimated the exact amount? You are almost certainly a “tech genius” yourself.

  3. “I can’t begin to fathom what exactly it could mean to the industry if this were to ever go through. Of course, Skype would certainly be integrated into Windows. That might be alright for a while. I don’t really see much integration with eBay except for the mentioned integration with the Live Search. Added exposure for certain. Could also make for interesting integration of both Skype and Ebay into MSN Spaces. One question that comes to mind is how much is eBay worth. They just paid a bucket load for Skype and that was a minor drop in their total value. This would almost certainly be a deal in the billions.”

IF YOU LOOK AT YOUR POST ABOVE YOU WILL SEE THAT ANYONE OTHER THAN YOURSELF IS A TECH GENIUS. YOUR QUESTION THAT COMES TO MIND OF HOW MUCH EBAY IS WORTH? WOW – HOW ABOUT LOOKING AT THE MARKET CAP OF THE COMPANY…..YOUR STATEMENT ABOUT THIS BEING A DEAL IN THE BILLIONS – NO ****.

*vulgarity edited out.  yell all you want, but try and keep the language clean.

  4. Thatedeguy says:

hmmm…. didn’t I state in the previous comment that I knew it was an obvious statement? What would you rather I had said, O Tech Genius Ryan?

  5. Rather you would have not said anything rgarding Tech..

You should stick to making comments on the News (which will be easy for you since they usually talk about things that have already happened and state the obvious) and stick to making comments on Everyday Life (Which in your case will be extremely boring).

Changing the title on your Blog to “My commentary on News and Everyday Life” would be more up your alley.

  6. Thatedeguy says:

Thank you very kindly for your opinion, Ryan. I will take it all into consideration. Until then, why don’t you get a venue for your ranting and open up a blog. Show us all what kinda tech genius you are. Feel free to leave the URL here so that we can all make our journey to your tech mecca.

    Thanks for visiting.
