Trackback spam: Bane of my blog

I’ve been getting so much trackback spam lately. The problem is that unlike regular comment spam, Akismet does a horrible job of stopping trackback spam. So, each and everyone of them goes through. And since I use the DoFollow plugin, each and everyone of them then gets a link. And then I have to go through and manually spam each one of them out.

But I get my fair revenge. The majority of them are blogspot blogs. I click through to their site and use blogger’s flag this blog function. Does it do any good? I don’t know, but at least I feel like I’m doing something. And making a little extra work for some of them.

Ugh.

I made it just past 8 pm on Wednesday and then fell straight into a stomach flu induced couch potato episode.  I spent most of yesterday weak and woozy and unable to eat a darn thing.  Now, I’m feeling much better but my 8 month old son seems to have something that is similar.  The doctors think it might be Rotovirus.  Sounds like all kinds of fun.  And just in time for the weekend!

Woot watcher

If you’re a minor addict to Woot! like I am, you might be interested in a little add-on for Firefox called Woot! watcher.  Basically, it pops a little bit into your toolbars that shows today’s woot!

Beats the heck out of visiting at midnight to see if the deal is what you want…

Poker Tournament with a SEO bent

I’m really not much for Poker as I find that I just don’t have the patience for it.  I play fairly well for an hour or so and then I begin getting bored and inpatient and then blow everything I’ve got on a stupid pair or maybe a suited 2,3 or something.

I might, however, participate in the SEO Blackhat Poker Tournament that is taking place on March 24th.  Basically, the ante is a link from a PR 4 or greater site.  Winner take all.  So, potentially, the winner could walk away with hundreds of PR4+ links to his/her site.  Talk about your all time boost and quite the SEO prize.  Based on the SEO Blackhat predictions, the link value could reach 1,000,000 or more.

Will you participate?  Maybe I’ll see you there.
