With the rollout of the new design, I’ve dropped the use of Text-Link-Ads on this site. I struggled to find a place for them in the new design and between the dropping income that they’ve been bringing in and a little pressure from the great oogelly moogelly I decided to just remove them altogether.
While I was at it, I removed TNX.net links from the site as well. Both services have a place and a use, but neither was fitting where I wanted this site to go and I really didn’t want to fill up the front page with more ad stuff.  I’m still considering whether I will put scratchback back in the design or not. I’ve got room for it on the single pages, but it might stay off of the front page. Again, the design is such that adding it would really mush stuff together and give more of an appearance of being over ad laden.
So, with that said, there are plenty of open ad spots at the moment. I’ve changed the advertise page to reflect the new spots and the new prices. If you are interested in advertising on Thatedeguy, please drop me an email.  I’m thinking of celebrating the new theme with a contest and possibly a discount on the ad spots. What do you think?

I should give up TLA on some of my blogs, too. But, it kills me to let go of the $500.00 – $600.00 monthly income. Even though it is not my only source of income, it about 25%.
I know that it is the way the world is moving, but I just want to whine and complain and throw myself on the floor and kick my legs and cry.

I completely agree, Gary, and that is why I waited as long as I did. Truth be told, I really couldn’t find a good spot for them and was only earning about 25-30 a month off of them on this site anyways. So I figured, why not just drop them and see if I can’t get a little pagerank back to help sell my private ads. I’m hoping to make up the difference with private ad sales. 😉
@ Gary & Liz, I am still with TLA, I have a small blog with not much clot, somewhat new and still learning my way around the blogosphere. I was just wondering where on your blogs TLA displayed…
I’m not so sure about using TLA or TNX, but got big LOLs over “the great oogelly moogelly.” That one I will remember and use.

I have been using TNX to sell linksfrom my website since January 2008 and already earned more than I would earn in 5 months by selling links through any other networks.
TNX is definitely the best link network out there!
Will be also buying links later this month. Pretty sure TNX will do great.
