There really is no *free* internet. So ads, as you are well aware, are a great way to counteract that cost and possible generate a bit of revenue. If someone doesn't like the ads, its lame to complain to the author of the page... if you don't like the ads, go somewhere else. Or - better yet, donate money. Well said. If it is disclosed and honest(like I try to make mine) then it really doesn't seem any different from the text links and banner ads that we all see.
