New Theme Up

Well, I finally got it up and running.  Come take a look! It’s not perfect just yet as there are a few things that need to be fixed, but overall, I’m happy with it.  I wanted more of a magazine front page to display a little more info without having sidebars that are 20 miles long.  I also wanted to try and take advantage of the available space a little more.  I think I accomplished that.  Hopefully.  I also added Alex King’s Popularity Contest plugin.  Wow.  That’s a nice plugin.

I’m sure there are still a few bugs, so if you do happen to find one, let me know.  You can drop me a line through the contact form.

What do you think?  Hideous?  Great?  I like it.  And I think that after I work the bugs out of it, I’ll release it to the rest of the market.  There is a lot of documentation to input though before that happens.  Little tweaks here and there that are really only known to me.

I like it - I suggest not to release it as you want your own site to be the only using the theme. Maybe make a slightly different one for release?

Good point Gary. I may have to think about that. Not sure how I would change it. Maybe rearrange the layout a little and the colors… Or maybe a light on dark scheme… hmmm…

Looks really nice. The only suggestion I’ve got is to make the comments stand out a bit more maybe - I kind of lost them with the background. Other than that… very spiffy!

hmmm… I’ll have to see what I can do about that Empress. Truth be told, I struggled with that and decided that I didn’t want them with the white background like the rest of the post. Maybe I’ll play around with some different font colors.

Make the first comment background colour light blue (or such colour), then the second one white, then the third one blue again. And so on…

Just found a bug, in the “Recent Comments” box on the front page, it shows “0 Comments” for everyone. hth

Looking good, a major improvement in my opinion. I agree on the comments, they do look a little lost.

Also you’re missing a closing bracket on your KonaBody class div.
