NaNoFiMo

As if NaNoWriMo wasn’t enough, now there’s NaNoFiMo for those of us that don’t quite complete the novel.

Of course, it doesn’t mean that it has to be a NaNoWriMo novel that you work on.   The site basically seems to be just a forum boards, but still a pretty good idea.  Especially if you’re in need of a little kick start to your novel writing.

Oh, and there’s a NaNoEdMo for novels needing editing as well. (although it doesn’t seem to be working currently.)

NaNoWriMo Update: Day 7

Well, as some of you may know, Jake and I have decided to participate in NaNoWriMo this year.  A good idea?  That remains to be seen.

What I do know is that in order to reach the 50k word goal, one has to write 666.66666667 words per day.  Currently, it is the beginning of day 7 and we are at just over 690 words.  Not exactly a stellar achievement.

We’ll see how it goes.  Hopefully the both of us will find some extra free time to add to it.  And if not, well, we participated.

First Day of NaNoWriMo

NaNoWriMo is in full swing as of early this morning.  The NaNo site is fully bogged and running slower than a site that’s been digged.  And that’s slow.

I suppose it’s as good a time as any to mention that Jake and I have decided to collaborate on a NaNo work.  Neither of us has a whole lot of time, so we’ll see if we come anywhere near the 50k words that is the goal of NaNo.

On a side note, do you think it’s a coincedence that the goals of NaNo, which are 50k words and 175 words work out to 666.666666666666666666666666666666667 word per page?

Me either.  And neither will you if you participate…  NaNoWriMo.

WritersBBS

Everyonce in a while, I catch the fancy that I have a small talent for writing and decide to try and cultivate that.  Nearly everytime that I do so choose, I end up revisiting WritersBBS.

WritersBBS is an extraordinarily wonderful(if design challenged) community of published and unpublished writers who act as a community to foster and cultivate each other’s writing ambitions.  Many of the users have been around the site for years and as such are becoming quite talented.

If you fancy yourself a writer in even the least sense, take a trip over to WritersBBS and tell em that thatedeguy sent you.(They have no affiliate program, so that’s not a sales call.)
